Capt. Kimi Damassia, a Huntington, N.Y. native and liaison officer with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, delivers a micro grant to Dr. Ameera, an Iraqi veterinarian, at the Department of Agriculture in Kirkuk, Iraq, Nov. 17. In an effort to improve veterinary services and increase agricultural production, micro-grants were used to purchase medical supplies, including antibiotics and vaccinations, to Iraqi veterinarians from around the province.
