The 209th Broadcast Operations Detachment displays its Yellow Banner and unit guidon at Army Support Activity-Dix's Griffith Field House, Feb. 23. The 209th BOD, whose motto is "One Shot, One Take," and mascot is a peacock statue, is from Rome, Ga., and will deploy to Iraq to support an Operation Iraqi Freedom mission where they will run the American Forces Network-Iraq. The Yellow Banner ceremony is performed at ASA-Dix to pay tribute to mobilizing military organizations and the banner is hung in Infantry Park, where it remains until the unit returns from combat. At that point, the banner is returned to the unit. The Yellow Banner acts as a symbolic reminder that the servicemen are in the thoughts and prayers of the ASA-Dix community.
