The highways of Iraq are soon to get busier as the Soldiers of the 512th Transportation Company Detachment from the Puerto Rico Army National Guard are on the way. Capt. Jesus Rosario-Garlarce from Caquas, Puerto Rico, the commander of the detachment, and his noncommissioned officer in charge, Staff Sgt. Damion Mercado. a resident of Humacao, Puerto Rico, accept a Yellow Banner on behalf of their personnel during a ceremony at Griffith Field House at Army Support Activity-Dix March 8. The truckers will transport equipment and personnel throughout Iraq while also conducting convoy operations. The 512th completed more than a month of mobilization training at ASA-Dix in preparation for this deployment.Photo by Wayne Cook
