KABUL, Afghanistan — Afghan and coalition forces detained one suspected insurgent during an operation overnight May 11, to disrupt Taliban and al Qaida foreign fighter facilitation networks operating in eastern Afghanistan.
In Shaikal Shate District, Kunar province, approximately 90 kilometers northeast of Jalalabad, Afghan forces, supported by a small element of coalition forces, carried out an operation to capture a known insurgent connected to bomb-making operations and facilitation of foreign fighters in Kunar province.
Forces patrolled to the targeted compound, conducted a search and detained the targeted individual without incident.
