KABUL, Afghanistan— Two International Security Assistance Force service members were killed as a result of direct fire on May 15 in eastern Afghanistan.
"On behalf of ISAF, I offer our sympathy to the families of our fallen soldiers," said Capt. Mark Durkin, ISAF spokesman. "Whilst we cannot lessen their pain, we can, and will, honour their sacrifice as we strive to bring security to the Afghan people."
It is ISAF policy not to release the nationality of any casualty prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
