KABUL, Afghanistan — Afghan and coalition forces detained four suspected militants overnight in an operation to disrupt the Haqqani network in Khost province.

In Terayzai District a combined force patrolled to a compound near Terayzai village, in search of a man believed to be involved in activities that support the Haqqani network.

After entering the compound, Afghan forces led the search to locate the wanted individual. All women and children were moved to a separate area while forces questioned the men on the compound.

Without incident, forces detained the suspected militant along with three other suspects for further questioning. An AK-47 assault rifle, chest rack and ammunition were confiscated.

There were no injuries and the commander on the ground compensated the owner for a gate that was damaged when forces entered the compound.
