INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana National Guard Soldiers with the 38th Infantry Division's Transportation Company are finishing up from their deployment to Iraq and are scheduled to arrive back on Hoosier soil, June 28.
Since September, approximately 160 Soldiers, who are headquartered in Elkhart, Ind., provided convoy security, transportation and civil affairs missions.
"These Soldiers are happy to be on U.S. soil and are excited about coming home to Indiana. Their spirits are high," said Command Sgt. Maj. Greg Rhoades, 38th Infantry Division command sergeant major. "They are a seasoned, more focused group of American heroes than they were one year ago. I am so very proud of them all."
"These Soldiers and their families should be commended on their hard work and support throughout this deployment," said Maj. Gen. Tod Carmony, 38th Infantry Division commander."
Family, friends and media are invited to attend the welcome home ceremony at Stout Field, Building 9, 2002 S. Holt Rd, Indianapolis, Ind., 46241 at 9:30 p.m.
