KABUL, Afghanistan— Four International Security Assistance Force service members died after their vehicle struck an improvised explosive device Aug. 6 in western Afghanistan.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of these four brave service members we lost to vicious and indiscriminate IEDs," said Brig. Gen. Eric Tremblay, ISAF spokesperson.
"Despite these difficult losses, we remain resolute in meeting the commitment that we have towards the Afghan population. We will need both courage and patience to see it through."
A U.S. spokesperson, Chief Petty Officer Brian Naranjo, has confirmed the service members were from the United States.
