KABUL, Afghanistan — Several Afghan national police were wounded when two AH-64 Apache helicopters responded to small arms fire from insurgents in the early morning hours in Ghazni province, Aug. 8.
The ANP wounded were treated by International Security Assistance Force service members. One has been released from treatment. Four ANP are still being treated, including one who is in critical condition, and three who are in stable condition.
The incident is currently under investigation.
ISAF is a key component of the international community's engagement in Afghanistan, assisting the Afghan authorities in providing security and stability and creating the conditions for reconstruction and development.
