KABUL, Afghanistan - A joint Afghan and International Security Force searched a series of buildings in Ghazni province on Sept. 1, in an ongoing effort to disrupt Taliban lines of communication, supplies and foreign fighters into the region.
The joint force searched buildings near the village of Ghazi Kheyl in Gelan district after intelligence indicated militant activity. The searched was conducted without incident, and the force detained three suspected militants.
The Taliban uses an extensive network of supply routes in eastern Afghanistan to arm and equip its militant elements within the country.
Afghan and International Security Forces are working together to block these routes and ensure the security and legitimate governance of the Afghan people.
