KABUL, Afghanistan — A joint Afghan-international security force detained three suspected militants in Kandahar province after searching a compound known to be used by a Taliban element as a weapons supply point for the region Sept. 18.

The joint force searched a compound in a neighborhood on the north side of Kandahar City without further incident.

There were no Afghan, international security force or civilians casualties in this incident.

The Taliban uses an extensive network of supply routes in southern Afghanistan to arm and equip its militant elements within the country. Afghan and international security forces constantly partner personnel and resources to block these routes and ensure the safety and well being of the Afghan people.
