KABUL, Afghanistan - An Afghan-international security force captured a Taliban facilitator and several other militants in Kandahar last night.
A joint force searched a series of buildings in Kandahar City after intelligence assets confirmed militant activities. The security force captured the facilitator and militants believed to be involved in coordinating suicide attacks and providing financial, media and logistical support.
In an operation in Wardak last night, an Afghan-international security force captured a Taliban commander and a couple of other militants.
The joint force went to a small compound in a rural area in the Sayad Abad District after intelligence confirmed militant activities.
The security force entered the compound and captured the Taliban commander, who identified himself and the other militants.
In an operation in Khowst last night, an Afghan-international security force captured a Haqqani suicide bomb facilitator and several other militants.
A joint security force searched a compound north of the village of Heydar Kheyl, in the Mandozai District after intelligence sources pin-pointed militant activity and captured the militants.
In an operation in Helmand last night, an Afghan-international security force detained one suspected militant while searching for a Taliban weapons facilitator.
A joint force searched a compound west of the village of Tebbi, in the Gasmir District, when intelligence sources discovered militant activities and detained the suspected militant.
No Afghan citizens were harmed during any of the operations.
