    KABUL, Afghanistan - Afghanistan national security forces with International Security and Assistance Force partners captured several men, including a senior Nad-e Ali Taliban commander, suspected of providing insurgents with weapons and illegal explosive material.

    After surrounding five compounds, the combined force ordered all occupants to come out. Following initial questioning the force discovered pistols, a shotgun and other material, which was seized as evidence, and several men were taken into custody by the ANSF.

    Five women and seven children were protected throughout this operation, which took place seven kilometers north of Nad-e Ali, Helmand province. No shots were fired and no civilians were injured in this operation.
