A Different Kind of Mission

Fort Knox's 3rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) has deployed before, but never like this. The 3rd ESC completed a 15-month deployment to Iraq in August 2009. Now, the unit is in Haiti. The command's Soldiers didn't expect to be deployed again so soon, but Haiti's, Jan. 12, earthquake changed all that.

Chief Warrant Officer Paul J. Aaron, the senior automotive maintenance technician for support operations in the 3rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), retired after more than 27 years in service during the United States Army Armor Center and Fort Knox Retirement Ceremony, Nov. 30, at the Fort Knox Leader's Club.
