Senior Airman April Clifford stays in constant contact with a pilot before takeoff, Nov. 19. The C-17 Globemaster III, deployed from Charleston Air Force Base, S.C., can transport supplies for airdrops and re-supply missions or the aircraft can be used to transport medical patients.
