Louisiana Guardsmen inducted into LSU Hall of Honor
BATON ROUGE, La. – Brig. Gen. Glenn Curtis, director of the joint staff for the Louisiana National Guard, was one of 11 alumni inducted into the Cadets of the Ole War Skule Hall of Honor during a ceremony on the Louisiana State University campus, Saturday, Nov. 14.

"It is indeed an honor to have been selected, but being inducted into the Hall of Honor... it leaves me almost speechless," said Curtis. "Today, I was surrounded not only by some of the greatest veterans that this state has ever had, but also the best alumni this school could have."

The Military Hall of Honor induction ceremony was part of LSU Salutes, the celebration of the university's military tradition scheduled near Veterans Day each November. The event also included a military parade, a wreath laying, a 21-gun salute, a fly over and static displays supplied by the Louisiana National Guard's 928th Sapper Company from Napoleonville, La.; 239th Military Police Company from Carville, La.; and the 139th Expeditionary Signal Company from Carville, La.

Inductees into the Hall of Honor also were recognized during pre-game ceremonies before the LSU – Louisiana Tech football game at Tiger Stadium. The Tiger Band also honored the inductees, veterans and LSU cadets with a patriotic half-time show.

The Hall of Honor inductees were selected based on their involvement with the university as well as military and community service.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for us to welcome back to the university those who have given so much to our university and to our nation," said Major General Skip Phillips, president of the Cadets of the Ole War Skule.
