A Type 74 Main Battle Tank of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force rolls through the motor pool at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, Calif., Jan. 15, 2014. The JGSDF were at NTC for the first time last month to conduct joint training exercises with 3-2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 7th Infantry Division, from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash. Training opportunities such as this are good for both countries as it encourages mutual respect and promotes enduring relationships for both U.S. and Japanese soldiers. (Photo by Staff Sgt.
