U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Edgar Enriquez-Barrios, an infantry rifle Marine and training clerk with 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, III Marine Expeditionary Force, poses for a photo in front of the 3rd MEB command post on Camp Courtney, Okinawa, Japan.
Enriquez-Barrios assists the current operations section and training chief with ensuring all fiscal and calendar year training requirements are completed by MEB staff, contributing to the unit's lethality and readiness.
"Working at the staff level and with a unit like the MEB is new to me. I went from being a fire team leader where I was seeing things from the tactical level, to working with senior staff NCOs and officers. It's a huge change, but I am enjoying the opportunities for learning and seeing the Marine Corps from a different perspective. I am also enjoying my time here in Okinawa. The people here are very polite and accommodating, and the culture is interesting. Especially the food."
Enriquez-Barrios is a native of Ponder, TX, and enlisted in the Marine Corps on Oct. 11, 2022. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Staff Sgt. Andrew Ochoa)
