PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. - Marine recruits of November Company, 4th Recruit Training Battalion, learned martial arts techniques at a training session July 24, 2013, on Parris Island, S.C.
The Marine Corps Martial Arts Program incorporates mental, moral and character discipline into hand-to-hand combat skills to help transform civilians into Marines. Recruits must earn their tan belts, the first belt level in the program, in order to graduate. November Company is scheduled to graduate Oct. 4, 2013.
