    A New York City native deployed to the Helmand province from Camp Lejeune, N.C., with Combat Logistics Regiment 2, Regional Command (Southwest), in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, July 9.

    While in Afghanistan, Sgt. Marc Carlo will provide logistical support to forward deployed Marines, U.S. allies and advise the Afghan National Security Forces in developing their own logistical capabilities.

    Carlo is a Marine Reservist with 6th Communications Battalion out of Brooklyn, N.Y. He previously deployed to Africa before joining CLR-2 to conduct logistical operations in Afghanistan.
