A Burton, Mich., native and U.S. Marine deployed to Helmand province from Camp Lejeune, N.C., with Combat Logistics Regiment 2, Regional Command (Southwest), in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, July 9.
While in Afghanistan, Lance Cpl. Stephanie Streeter, a field radio operator, will provide logistical support to forward deployed Marines, U.S. allies and advise the Afghan National Security Forces in developing their own logistical capabilities.
“I felt like I had a bigger purpose and was meant for something not everyone can do,” said Streeter.
Several of her family members have served in the military, but Streeter is the first Marine in her family’s history.
