BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan – Two coalition helicopters made hard landings in eastern Afghanistan, Monday, while flying in bad weather. There were no casualties and all aircrews were safely recovered.

The helicopters involved were AH-64 Apache helicopters, a two-person crewed attack helicopter. All personnel on-board were American.

"These downed aircraft are not the result of enemy contact," said Army Capt. Vanessa R. Bowman, a coalition forces spokesperson. "The investigation will gather the facts surrounding this incident. Recovery operations are still ongoing. Details about the incident will not be released until recovery efforts are complete."

Any Afghan civilians in the vicinity of the site are strongly advised to stay away from the location for their own safety.
