Members of the U.S. Army Drill Team, as well as the Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, performed during Army Day at the Alamo April 25, 2023, in downtown San Antonio, Texas, as part of Fiesta 2023.

The U.S. Army Drill Team is a precision drill platoon with the primary mission of showcasing the U.S. Army both nationally and internationally through breathtaking routines with bayonet-tipped 1903 Springfield rifles. The U.S. Army Drill Team performs for military, government, non-profit, and civilian organizations.

The Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps is the only unit of its kind in the armed forces, and is part of the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard).

Lt. Gen. John R. Evans Jr., commanding general, U.S. Army North (Fifth Army) and Senior Commander, Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis, also spoke to the assembled crowd about the history of the U.S. Army in San Antonio and its ties to the Alamo.

Fiesta is a 10-day celebrations featuring more than 100 events that feature music, food, sports, pageantry, military and patriotic observances, exhibits and parades. (U.S. Air Force photo by Steve Elliott)
