KABUL - Groundbreaking ceremonies were held recently for three schools scheduled to be built by an International Security Assistance Force provincial reconstruction team in the districts of Injil, Karokh and Shindand in Herat province.
The Herat PRT has already completed the construction of 60 schools that now have over 80,000 students attending classes.
ISAF will also contribute 450,000 euros for furniture and materials.
"Education is one of the top priorities for the government and the partnership with ISAF will allow benefits in this field, especially in the rural areas," said Ahmad Yusof Nooristani, Herat's governor, who attended the groundbreaking ceremony in Shindand.
