Taliban IED operative captured by Afghan-led force in Ghazni

KABUL, Afghanistan – An Afghan and coalition security force captured a Taliban improvised explosive device operative, who also facilitated and conducted heavy machine gun and small arms fire attacks against coalition force convoys, Tuesday.

Recent reporting led the security force to target a compound in Andar district, to search for the individual. Afghan forces used a loudspeaker to call for all occupants to exit the buildings peacefully and then secured the area. After questioning all the residents, the security force identified and detained the targeted individual without incident.

The assault force did not fire their weapons and they protected the women and children throughout the search.
