    KABUL, Afghanistan - An Afghan National Security and International Security Assistance force patrol located two narcotics laboratories, drugs and detained one man during an operation in southern Helmand province, Thursday.

    During a search of the laboratories the patrol found 600 kilograms of hashish, drug manufacturing equipment, packaging materials and improvised explosive device components.

    In the same area, the ANSF and ISAF patrol noticed a suspicious bunker and upon further investigation, found an underground narcotics laboratory. They detained one man at the lab who was in possession of an AK-47 rifle and a pistol with associated ammunition.

    Noticing a similar bunker nearby, the combined force found a second laboratory with drugs and processing equipment.

    The drugs, IED components, weapons and processing equipment were safely destroyed on site.
