    An Afghan-led operation in the Arghistan District of Kandahar province, Oct. 28, was able to disrupt an insurgent network known to facilitate attacks on Afghan and coalition forces in the province.

    The operation resulted in 24 enemy killed-in-action and was led by Col. Abdul Raziq, commander of the Afghan Border Police. The ABP was partnered with a force of soldiers from Special Operations Task Force – South.

    Found during the operation were 20 pressure-plate improvised explosive devices, five jugs of homemade explosive, two anti-tank mines, four assault rifles and IED making material (fuses, wire, pressure plates).

    No civilians were injured and no property damage was reported during the operation.
