KABUL, Afghanistan – An insurgent was killed during an Afghan National Security Force and International Security Assistance Force operation in Shah Wali Kot district, Kandahar province, Dec 1.
The joint security force was clearing an area associated with insurgent activity and where a Taliban leader and improvised explosive device facilitator was alleged to operate from.
As the force entered the compound they were attacked by an armed insurgent, who was subsequently killed.
During a search of the area the patrol found one machine gun, two AK-47s and associated ammunition.
