KABUL, Afghanistan – An Afghan National Security Force and International Security Assistance Force operation detained an insurgent during a patrol in Chorah district, Uruzgan province, Dec. 1.
The insurgent, a known specialist in building and emplacing of improvised explosive devices, was detained for participating in the planning and execution of numerous IED attacks against Afghan and coalition forces.
As the force arrived at the target location and attempted to surround the compound, several suspected insurgents fled the residence. The force pursued the fleeing individuals, ultimately detaining two insurgents, one of whom was later identified as the targeted insurgent.
