KABUL, Afghanistan – International Security Assistance Force confirmed a Haqqani network facilitator was detained during an Afghan and coalition operation in Khost province Feb. 10.
The Haqqani network facilitator operated out of Sabari district where he was responsible for the movement of explosives and equipment to support Haqqani network operations targeting Afghan and coalition forces. He was associated with a Haqqani network leader who was detained Feb. 6 during an Afghan and coalition force operation in the district. Recent reporting indicated he coordinated the transfer of explosives for an improvised explosive device attack against Afghan and coalition forces.

In Spin Boldak District, Kandahar province, an Afghan National Security Force and ISAF patrol detained one insurgent transporting 26,400 pounds of ammonium nitrate.
Also in Spin Boldak District, Afghan Border Police seized a vehicle containing 17 bags of ammonium nitrate, seven pressure plates, 29 rocket propelled grenades, four radio-controlled transmitters, two radios and 10 mines.
