KABUL, Afghanistan – ISAF joins President Hamid Karzai in strongly condemning the vicious suicide attack by an insurgent today in Khost province, near the Porozha Bridge area.

According to Afghan reports, the suicide attack killed 8 people, including women and children, and wounded more than 40 Afghans.

“The killing of innocent Afghan civilians, including women and children, is a cowardly and heinous act,” said Rear Admiral Vic Beck, ISAF director of public affairs. “Our heartfelt condolences and thoughts are with the families of the dead and wounded during their time of sorrow. Attacks like this continue to highlight how little regard insurgents have for the Afghan people. ISAF will work with our Afghan partners to find those responsible and bring them to justice.”
