KABUL, Afghanistan – Afghan national security and International Security Assistance Forces operating in Panjwa’i District, Kandahar province, detained several insurgents and discovered a weapons cache Feb. 23. The cache consisted of more than 11,000 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, three grenades, several detonators and radio transmission and receiving equipment.
In other ISAF news throughout Afghanistan:
South
In Garm Ser District, Helmand province, an ISAF patrol discovered a weapons cache consisting of four rocket-propelled grenades, three high explosive rounds, two RPG motors, several shells, one mortar and one grenade.
East
In Kapisa province, Tagab District, Afghan and coalition forces discovered a weapons cache consisting of several RPGs, rocket parts, 43 rounds of PKM ammunition and one radio set.
All recovered weapons have been or will be destroyed by security forces.
