CAMP LEATHERNECK, Afghanistan – Coalition forces with Marine Air Delivery Platoon, 2nd Marine Logistics Group (Forward) sent off nearly 57,000 pounds of supplies to Marines on the front lines March 22 aboard a C-130 Hercules aircraft.
Marines packed, rigged and inspected 26 Container Delivery Systems full of food and water in support of 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines currently operating along the Helmand River in the eastern sector of Regional Command Southwest.
The Marine Aerial Refueler Transport squadron conducted the air drop from Camp Bastion as a fast and effective means of resupply, which enables Marines and sailors to circumvent inhospitable terrain.
