CAMP LEATHERNECK, Afghanistan – The Concussion Restoration Care Center opened a new, updated facility to continue treatment for the number one battle injury sustained in Afghanistan.
Wounded Warrior care remains a top priority for senior military and government officials alike.
Lt. Gen. Thomas Waldhauser, the commander of Marine Corps Forces Central Command, visited the new facility May 7.
The CRCC was also recently visited by Dr. Jonathan Woodson, the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs, John R. Campbell, the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Wounded Warrior Care, and Maj. Gen. Melvin Spiese, the deputy commanding general of the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force.
In addition to concussion care, the facility also specializes in muscle skeletal injuries and mental health care.
