KABUL, Afghanistan – An International Security Assistance Force patrol killed several insurgents during a security operation in Orgun District, Paktika province, May 15.
During the patrol, the coalition force was engaged by several insurgents with small arms and rocket fire. The patrol positively identified the firing positions and returned fire. An ISAF air weapons team and close air support engaged the insurgent firing positions killing numerous insurgents.

A combined Afghan and coalition force killed several insurgents in Mota Khan District, Paktika province May 17.
The combined force was conducting a security operation when it was engaged by insurgents with small arms fire. The combined force returned fire, killing several insurgents.
Following the attack, the force discovered a weapons cache consisting of three AK-47 rifles with 16 magazines, one rocket-propelled grenade launcher, two RPGs, 19 hand-grenades, two motorcycles and two cell phones.
In Qarah Bagh District, Ghazni province an ISAF patrol killed several insurgents May 17.
The patrol was engaged by insurgents with rocket-propelled grenades and multiple indirect fire rounds. After positively identifying the insurgents’ firing positions, the patrol returned fire killing several insurgents.
In Bermal District, Paktika province, a coalition force patrol discovered a weapons cache today consisting of three rocket-propelled grenades launchers, seven RPGs, 10 RPG propellants, one RPG thermal sight, two hand grenades and four grenade fuses.
The weapons have been or will be destroyed by the security forces.
