BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan – Afghan and coalition forces killed six insurgents and detained one suspected individual in eastern Afghanistan during operations over the past 24 hours, Nov. 4.
Afghan National Army and coalition forces killed one insurgent during a route clearance patrol in Sayyidabad district, Wardak province.
Also in Sayyidabad district, three insurgents were killed by coalition forces while attempting to emplace an improvised explosive device. At the site, coalition forces recovered two grenades, one AK47 assault rifle, one M9 pistol, more than 2,000 Pakistani rupees, 110 Afghanis and various components for assembling IEDs.
Two insurgents were killed in Mamurkhe district, Paktika province when the IED they were emplacing detonated prematurely.
Afghan National Army troops from 201st ANA Corps and Coalition forces detained one individual while searching the home of a known insurgent in Dowhat Shah district, Laghman province. The detainee is currently in ANA custody.
Operations in RC-East are still ongoing.
