[1] Multi-National Corps-Iraq and Multi National Forces-Iraq merger to United States Forces – Iraq from Baghdad On January 1, 2010, a new era in Operation Iraqi freedom will begin. The combining of five different command groups in Iraq into one single headquarters will be complete. The country of Liberia entered its second civil war in 1999 when a rebel group, backed by the government of neighboring Guinea, overwhelmed the capital Monrovia. Invading rebels caused the death and displacement of thousands of people caught in the conflict.
