[1] Wyoming trains deployed Soldiers for the hunt
The fact that the nearest huntable elk was 7,000 miles away only fueled the desire of Soldiers from Wyoming's 2nd Battalion, 300th Field Artillery, to sit through four three-hour-long hunter education classes, followed by an hour-long test with their battalion commander. (02/9/10)
[2] Spc. Buechler's Personality
Deploying for the first time in his Army career, Spc. Robert Buechler, fire direction control specialist for the multiple launch rocket system, is learning valuable skills to take home while he works as part of the security force at the Sea Port of Debarkation site in Kuwait. The SPOD is where all the equipment, supplies, and vehicles for mobilized units are shipped to theater. Buechler is responsible for making sure only authorized people and equipment are allowed to get on the SPOD. (02/8/10)

[2] Together as a Family
There are no greater bonds than the bonds shared with a mother and her children. That certainly holds water with Josh and Kimberly Ramos and their mother Dawn VanHeuveln. Their family has always been close to each other. As Dawn's children got older and more independent, some might think they would start doing their own things in life and start straying from the family. This might be especially true if one of them joined the military; however, that would not be the case for their family. (02/8/10)

An Oil Spill Response Exercise was conducted at Camp Patriot, Kuwait, Dec. 14 to ensure the response team would be able to contain and clean up an oil spill should it ever happen. (01/14/10)
[2] U.S. Forces Conduct Sniper Training With Kuwait Commandos
At the base of a mountain range in Kuwait, a barely visible target is seen standing against the wind. Five hundred meters away, a man shields his face against the blowing sand and lines up the target in the crosshairs of his scope, draws a breath, pauses and fires, then pauses again to hear the 'plink' of the bullet on the metal target. Despite bruises, broken ribs and uncomfortable situations, 17 Soldiers from the 115th Fires Brigade became Level 1 certified at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, after completing a six day Modern Army Combatives Course Jan. 2, which is designed to teach basic hand to hand fighting techniques. (01/2/10)
[2] 61st Chemical Company The 61st Chemical Company from Ft. Lewis, Wash., deployed to Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, conducted an awards ceremony, Dec. 24, at Camp Megavier, Kuwait, to conclude a training program with members of the Kuwait military. (12/24/09)

Members of Serving Our Troops, an organization from St. Paul, Minn., cooked and served a steak dinner to hundreds of Soldiers Dec. 12, 2009 who are deployed to Camp Buehring, Kuwait with the 1-151 Field Artillery, a Minnesota Army National Guard unit. (12/12/09)
