Marine Corps Base Hawaii - On the morning of December 11, 2024, Marine Corps Base Hawaii’s Waterfront Operations (WFO) was called into action when they were alerted by the University of Hawaii about a sunken boat at Coconut Island. While primarily serving as an emergency response team for MCBH in the event of oil and hazardous fluid spills, WFO remains ready to assist the community.
MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII – As the Marine Corps Marksmanship Competition Pacific (MCMCP) approaches, Marines and local law enforcement gathered at MCBH’s Crater Range to put their skills to the test. Staff from Pu’uloa Range Training Facility created three rifle courses, three pistol courses, a team pistol course, and a team rifle course to assess marksmanship and agility in the first quarter intramural competition, MCBH, Dec. 10-12, 2024.
Since stepping foot into Marine Corps Base Hawaii’s Anderson Hall, Master Gunnery Sergeant Morris Mayfield could tell it hadn’t lost its potential, envisioning an experience that would rejuvenate every Marine who passed through its doors. The aging dining facility had seen better days, but he was determined to restore it to its former glory. As the new food tech on MCBH, Mayfield had taken command of a facility that had lost its spark....
As the holiday festivities are in full swing, Headquarters Battalion continues its own tradition with its second annual Turkey Bowl. This year, sections within the battalion engaged in fierce competition to snatch the trophy from last year’s winner, the Installation Personnel Administration Center (IPAC).
