Japanese soldiers with the Western Army Infantry Regiment, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force conduct a live-fire 81mm mortar range aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Feb. 1, 2016. As a part of Exercise Iron Fist this training event is part of the final phase of training the soldiers of the JGSDF and USMC will be conducting, which focuses on small unit skills and tactics before moving on to larger scale operations.
