F-16 Fighting Falcons from Bagram Airfield support many missions around Afghanistan. In the event of an emergency during take off or landing, F-16 pilots can rely on help from the 455th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron. Specifically one team from the 455th ECES, who considers themselves to be the best at what they do. This team recertified their Mobile Aircraft Arresting System on the runway at Bagram Airfield Afghanistan. The MAAS is a barrier used to catch the arresting hook on fighter aircraft in case of malfunction upon landing or take off
