USS Taylor and an unflagged dhow collided at approximately 2:47 p-m on Nov. 29 while operating in the Arabian Sea. Two dhow crew members were safely recovered by the dhow's crew. There were no injuries to the sailors aboard the dhow or Taylor. The dhow suffered some damage to its starboard main deck and steering gear. Taylor rendered assistance on the scene and the dhow was later able to proceed. Taylor received no damage and is fully mission capable. The U-S Navy is investigating the circumstances surrounding this accident. Further details will be made available as appropriate. Homeported in Mayport, Florida, Taylor is deployed to the U-S Central Command's area of responsibility under the command of Combined Task Force 150. Produced by Petty Officer Bobby Northnagle.
