MacDonald is a Reserve Soldier who uses his civilian skills in Iraq, and vice versa. At home MacDonald is a 17-year veteran with the Philadelphia Police Department. He is also an area district commander for the force. In Iraq, the two-tour combat veteran is NCOIC of the Intelligence and Operations section for the 304th Civil Affairs Brigade, home based out of Philadelphia. MacDonald talks about how his experience back home has helped his mission here, and how the lessons and tactics of civil affairs in Iraq have help his community policing back home.
