First Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division paratroopers are known around the world for their strategic response force capabilities. The brigade's legacy unit - the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment - has conducted partnered airborne exercises and operations with numerous countries over the past 60 years. Army Pfc. Jessica Cooke tells us how American paratroopers are preparing for future partnership opportunities by conducting Airborne operations at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq.
The 1st/82nd is the first Advise-And-Assist Brigade in Iraq's Al Anbar province. The paratroopers have conducted extensive training with their Iraqi security force counterparts in combat skills, maintenance, medical, communications and numerous other areas since they arrived last August. The brigade is expected to redeploy to Fort Bragg, N.C., later this summer.
