Afghanistan’s Ghazi Olympic Stadium was built in 1923 and used for both national and international sporting events throughout most of its existence, until the Taliban took hold and transformed the national stadium into a venue for public executions and other horrific punishments. On Dec. 15, Afghanistan marked a historical day as Ghazi stadium was reopened to become once again a source of national pride. Staff Sgt. Shannon Ofiara takes us to Kabul.
