Advancing to the next rank is always a good day for a service member. For two deployed U.S. Army soldiers sharing a promotion ceremony really isn't that much out of the norm except they're both getting promoted to the rank of staff sergeant. Wait, it get's better: they're married - to each other. The only problem is that one is at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, and the other one is across the Gulf of Oman - more than 1,000 miles away in Qatar. And yet they were still able to have their promotions together via video teleconferencing or VTC.
