Service members from Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa work together to prepare for emergencies down range with mobile units. Petty Officer Cody Boyd takes us to a Mobile Joint Operations Center.
REPORTER
A Mobile Joint Operations Center is set up when communication is needed down range after an incident occurs. During a training exercise, service members from Camp Lemonnier set up their operations center. Lieutenant Commander Chuck Hawkins is the Assistant Mission Commander for the Mobile JOC.

Well, this allows us to have an on-site Commander with on-site eyes and relaying information back and forth and keeping everybody very informed about what's going on.
REPORTER
The twenty man Mobile JOC team is always on stand-by ready to go in a moments notice. The goal for the team is to arrive at an incident site within 24 hours and have the JOC set up within three to four. For Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa Public Affairs, I'm Petty Officer Cody Boyd.
