We recently held a DoDLive Bloggers Roundtable with Navy Capt. Dale Fuller, the former Amphibious Squadron 3 commander of the Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group, and Marine Corps Col. Roy Osborn, commander of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, on Thursday, Feb. 10. Capt. Fuller and Col. Osborn led a Navy-Marine Corps team that completed a wide range of missions across the Western Pacific and the Indian Ocean.
Fuller and Osborn will discuss value of forward-deployed Navy-Marine Corps forces, challenges they faced, and how their team accomplished a wide range of missions, including pirate takedown in Gulf of Aden that generated so many headlines last fall.
While deployed, the Peleliu ARG recaptured the MV Magellan Star ship in the Gulf of Aden after suspected pirates had seized it, provided disaster relief assistance after flooding in Pakistan, rescued several people at sea, and supported combat operations in Afghanistan.
