“Mardi Gras” is French for “Fat Tuesday,” and was originally a carnival celebration of food and song before Christians prepared to fast for Lent. Today, the Mardi Gras spirit is alive and well all over the world through different events and traditions. Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni joined in the fun by hosting a Mardi Gras party at Club Iwakuni. Lance Corporal Joshua DeFour collected some beads to bring you the story. Soundbites include PFC Robert Leck - Partygoer. Produced by LCpl Joshua DeFour.
