JUNEAU, Alaska - The captain of the fishing vessel Sandy M notifies the Coast Guard that his vessel is taking on water and he and his crew is abandoning ship Dec. 18, 2010. Three people were able to make it to a life raft while two others remained in the water. The Coast Guard successfully rescued all five people, transferred them to local emergency medical service personnel in Sitka where they were released in good condition.
